View Full Version : Bought a Qmoto jacket recently?

Can anyone tell me if qmoto jackets come with both sides of the pants connection zip.
I've had trouble matching zips in the past and would prefer to get the matching half with the jacket and have it sewn on to my pants.
Qmoto don't seem interested in answering my emails regarding this.

If a seller won't answer direct questions why would you give them your business?
How is the GSX anyway?

GSX S is great....apart from the snatchy throttle and rock hard shock, although tbf I havent played around with the shock settings much.

That was my first thought too, but I really like the jacket and cant find much else I like thats sensibly priced.

Yeah maybe, they don't seem to have a lot of stock and the available sizes are very limited.

The only number listed on the website is Steves mobile no. Dunno if its always been like that, seems a bit strange to not list them all especially the Office no.
I'll give him a chance to call back then try the others.

I got an email reply. They didn't directly answer my question, just asked what type of zip was on my pants and mentioned they can supply zips.
So I guess that's a roundabout way of saying the jacket doesn't come with both sides of the zip?
Dunno if I can be fucked dealing with them. seems like it could be a nightmare if I have any problems

just buy it if you like it, if it doesn't have a zip you can take it here - http://www.mdsleatherworks.co.nz/
but it may cost you $12.

Yes I've used mds quite a bit. We didn't have much luck zip matching previously, they kept coming apart, but I supposeI can just replace both zips to solve that.

Sounds like they meant they can directly match one to your pants rather than just supply a generic one ;)
Glad you managed to get a hold of them. Good luck with the jacket hunt.

Sounds to me that Tazz is correct. Maybe just maybe your communication with them hasnt be entirely clear as to your requirements
Email reply seems perfectly fine to me as in they can supply zips to suit.
Although I had problems with Brett when he ran the business I think the new owners have a better persona and will do all to satisfy the customer
Hone your communication skills to them and you will receive the desired outcome

whatever zip you ask them to fit, make sure it is attached with triple stitching and not just two lines.

Still sounds to me you have comprehension skills
To me that they want to match up the zips so that you receive the product to suit your needs.
What is so difficult to understand. ??? Could you just not tell them what type zip on your pants rather than saying you cant be fucked.
From that email they seem to be trying to be accommodating to your needs but you just want to be difficult.
As I see it from your limited information supplied they asked what sort of zip on your pants and they can supply zips . I assume the correct zip fitted to the jacket of your choice .

Or they could answer a simple yes/no question with a yes or a no. I have told them I'm not interested in trying to match my zip as in my experience it doesn't work. So maybe its their comprehension skills that need improving.

So, it turns out that the size chart which is ,admittedly, for race suits is completely different to the jacket sizing.
They make no mention of this on the site or provide a jacket size chart so I think I made a reasonable assumption by using the only size chart available.
Anyway they dont make jackets Euro size 48 so I'm back to square one

I dunno, it's their own 'brand' so you won't find a different size chart on the net and when you click on the size chart on the website that is the only one that relates to clothing other than the Knox gear?
Probably would have wondered why the 40 etc weren't on there and if wanting a smaller size why they didn't go any bigger (when the unavailable ones are blanked out), but easy, and annoying, mistake at a glance imo.
Other than the fact it's probably way to big, you think the jacket is any good?

However if you were in email contact with them maybe you should have confirmed sizing via email and waited a few days for a response.

My one-piece is a 48 and is a small. My Arlen Ness jacket I bought in Italy is a 48 and is smaller than an ordinary small. Don't ask me to reconcile this with the other sizes you see around - wouldn't it be nice if the industry could standardise?

My Dainese jacket is a 52 but if I buy an L shirt in NZ I can guarantee the arms will be too short and it will be tight around the guts. Need a new jacket but daren't get it over the interweb for this very reason.

Sounds about right. I'm usually an XL shirt rather than L. Ls will fit, but are a touch tight and too short. My Dainese jacket, and my Rev'It 2pc, are 54s. I've tried 52s in the shop and usually I can't even get them on.
I find helmet/boot/glove sizing to be far more particular and variable than jackets/pants though.

Is it not pretty much expected that you have to go in person to try on a specific item of clothing in-store to confirm fit and sizing, and then (possibly scummy I know) go online and find the cheapest source for that exact item? I would be pretty concerned with buying any clothing off the internet without trying in person - particularly when it comes to safety gear or items you will wear for so many hours.
