I'm in the process of upgrading and would like input/advice from you all.

Have had a ride on a 92 kawasaki 250 Balius ( a naked version of ZXR)
Really enjoyed it but am worried bout the relatively high km's ( 32k, how do these engines hold together and when is the cam chain etc done?) and the clutch seems to only just engage as the tension is released on clutch lever( ie i only need a finger to get it spinning) is this a sign the clutch is worn close to point of failure?
I hadnt ridden a fairingless bike before but found it very comfortable, any views on tired ness over a long journey etc from other naked bike riders( no pun intended :p )
Also the guage cluster shook around quite a bit, again is this normal?

Any advice would be great,
Cheers.

my zxr is at 50k and still going strong, i know of one that was still going at decent at 150k. Clutch sounds like the cable needs adjusting, and as for the gauges etc sounds like somethings loose... how much they wanting?

Sounds good then

Dont think its the clutch cable as it has these fancy cam things to move lever closer to hand grip and all, just feels like there isnt much pressure at all on the clutch plates from springs, light feel.

$4k or maybe $3750 compared to the price of the ZXR's these days it doesnt seem too bad...

. i can ride 2-3hrs @ 110-120 and only get a sore arse :shake: in my area there tends to be quite a bit of wind but i dont get sore, i rode an srv250 and it seemed sweet at 130 and i was comfy.....fairings are a luxury to me, go for it man :2thumbsup

that cam thing has numbers on it right... that changes the lever position, it'll be the cable tension, which can be adjusted where the cable leaves the handle... like a bolt with a tunnel cut in it... wind it out makes it tighter, wind it in makes it loose - then it has another washer type thing on it which is to stop it coming undone.

could just be a good clutch, but without trying it it could also be a real shit one :nya:

Hey mat i have not long bought one of the kawa. balius 250, its a '95 model. But far out they can go for a small bike. It will easilly let anyone loose thier licence, passing 150 kilcks and still looking for more in the next gear! Good machines.
Bout the clutch thing just turn the dial on the ckuch lever that might sort ya out, did for me.
happy riding bud. :niceone:
