Turn up and dirt ride places close to Wellington?

A mate's 40th is coming up and one of the ideas is to shout him a day's offroad riding.

We've all got streetbike kit... but no dirt gear... and no dirtbikes.

I've seen groups riding at a farm station by Wainuiomata Beach, does anyone know anything about this? Or can anyone suggest an outfit that'd hire gear out for the day and has a track?
