I've been wanting to give this dirtbiking thing ago for quite a while, but without any clue about what I'm doing, no gear and no bike, nothing ever came out of that. Best I've done so far was taking the little Spada on a ProRider gravel riding course to the Nikau Caves, which was scary lol, but so much fun.
So I decided to treat myself to some dirtbiking with these guys http://www.puredirttours.co.nz, who are based just outside of Rotorua. So this morning the Hornet and I went off to Rotovegas.
They provided all the gear and the bike, so I pretty much just had to turn up. There were only two other people there with me, so that was great (for me at least :-). We went onto an easier round track first, then on a bit harder one. The ground was mostly solid, but there are some sandy bits you can go around. At the end we went up the farm hills for a wee bit. That was brilliant.
Anyway, I didn't fall. Yay. (Probably because I was so slow lol) and it was a hell of a lot of fun.
Just leaving this out here, in case someone else is in the same situation than me. From what I've heard from the sand pit, this here is much nicer ground to learn on, too. And as a side note, they generally have deals on book me (https://www.bookme.co.nz/bookings/rotorua-taupo/activity/pure-dirt-tours-1-hours-dirt-biking-action/1118/my-booking) if anyone is interested.
