Great race !!!!
Man, can those Ducati's move !!!
Checa just hauled in Rossi down the straight and Caprirossi just pulled away.
Yamaha have to work on some more top speed.
But it doesn't matter...as ROSSI IS THE WORLD CHAMP (again !!)
Hats off to the guy,..he's just awesome

Interesting because if you believe this the top speeds weren't that different

Yeah but checa caught rossi right at the end when the michellin's were badly worn, the bridgestone's were still working alright. So Checa would have got better drive out of the 2nd to last corner and a higher top speed down that straight.
All 3 races were pretty good. 125, damn 2 thousandths of a second difference. Go stoner in the 250's, wonder if he can do it. Will go down to the wire, need the dwarf to crash again and it will be all on.

Capirossi and Checa were using hard fronts which seemed to last better at the end.
It was the almost perfect result for me, Rossi and two Ducs on the podium.

I guess getting good drive onto the straights would create the illusion that the Dukes were quicker but no denying that they were in better shape than the Yamaha at the end of the race.
Great result though.
The 7 dwarves gag was a laugh too.

Yeah, I thought it was up there with the wine waiter pantomime. It's likely though some joyless bastard will complain that this behaviour was disrespectul to little people.

... am I reading the sheet wrong or was Rossi the fastest during the race and the rest only went fast at warm up and free practise???

Yes you are reading the sheet wrong, rossi came 2nd so he was the second fastest in the race.

Just finished watching it now, very awesome race. First and second fighting it out and third and fourth. 46 degrees is bloody hot and it looks like making the right tyre choice won out on the day.
And whossits was racing after his foot peg when into his heel resulting in 35 stiches, fark.

Which is all that matters.
You'll note that the Yamaha hasn't turned up on top of the speed sheets very often, if at all, in the entire time the M1 has been racing.
Fast down a straight does not a winner make.
Couple of wins and podiums for Ducati is good for the sport, as it encourages them to stay in the competition.

Aye, and the fact Michelin shipped in a container of special tyres the night before raceday as their tyres up till then were not hacking the pace. Those Blatas must be tough work huh? You'd think even a lighty worked Suzuki GSX1000K5 would do at least 280km/h on that track?
