View Full Version : Am I too tall for a Bonneville?

Hi folks! I test rode a 2014 Bonneville T100 and loved it. It was a comfortable ride and I didn't feel too tall on it. Then I saw this photo and worried that I might look like a bear on a tricycle (although I'm lankier than I appear here, the borrowed jacket was enormous!). Anyway, if anyone can tell me that I don't look too big for it in a convincing manner, I'll probably buy it. What are your thoughts, guys?
Cheers,
Andy
Oh, FYI, I'm 6'3" with a 32" inseam.

Your gloves don't match the rest of your outfit so I can't tell sorry. You will need to match them and your boots before we can comment on whether you will fit in at the cafe or not.

No, but the curtains match the carpet, if that helps?

You look fine. If you like it, buy it. It's simple, enjoy.

Thanks, flashg! I know it seems like kind of a dumb question but if I'm going to drop fifteen grand on something then it's good to feel sure about it!

Many many years ago someone once told me if you really really like a bike, buy it and you'll look after it properly (your pride and joy) don't buy what others tell you or we'd all be riding the same bike. Remember it's your money, buy what YOU like.
Advice can help when it stops you buying a dud that's all.

All right, all right! I might not have made myself clear in the original post. Sigh. What I meant was, although I found it comfortable to ride in the test ride, once I saw myself on it and saw how tall I looked, I was worried that after six months of riding it, the bike might have start feeling smaller. Okay, forget it! That'll teach me to put my head above the parapet, I guess!

At 6'4" I can tell you ask motorcycles will look small on you but if you are having enough fun it won't matter.
My Hayabusa looked small under me but overwhelmed smaller riders. I didn't care. Best bike in the world... well that I have ridden.
My cb1300 looks a touch small but is a good fit. I don't care I love it.
My DR350 looks seriously small under me.
I don't care. Nothing comparable looks bigger and it is a hoot and a half.
If you are unsure take it for longer test ride with some slow riding and 30 minds or longer of open road. 10 min test rises are bs and only really for those not all that serious.

If you love the bike and it feels good, buy it. Big Dogs' right, all bikes are going to look small on you.

Cb1300 and the like are possible exceptions... but that doesn't matter if they don't float his boat.

Unless its name ends in -King or -Wing, or something, it's going to look a bit small. Get what you like and ride the thing however you like.
I'm 6'5", and I was offered rides on 675 and 955i Daytona's. Seriously fellas, just after a larf, werntcha...

Fucking internet.
You rode a bike.
You loved it and want it.
WHY THE HELL ARE YOU ASKING US ANYTHING?
Grow a pair, buy the bike.
Jesus Christ on a wooded cross would be cursing you - he'd be saying 'WTF did I do this for?"

Yes . You'll look like a bear on a tricycle. Get a large cruiser like victory hd or indian.
