View Full Version : Places and people to ride with in Southland/Otago? (Trail riding)

Heys Guys and Girls,
First time poster, long time reader. I have recently moved to Invercargill and am looking for People to ride with and places to ride. I have seen the advertised trails rides on the net but most of the time my work commitments don't allow me to attend.
I know of Mavora and the beach but thats about the only riding places i know of.
I have a CRF450X

Plenty of places to ride around the south. Whats your skill level? done any racing?

Going back a few years but we use to ride behind west dome at mossburn (and yes you can get to the top of west dome if you have two idiots trying to see who can climb the highest) and also played up eyre creek just out of Athol.

There use to be a trail riding club based in inverse but I don't know if they are still going. One of the local bike shops put me onto them.

Thanks for the reply. I have been trail riding since i was 5 started on a XR50 and just progressed from there. I gave up for a few years and perused offroad racing with the buggys, But i found i get more enjoyment out of the bikes. I am realitivly skilled and experienced but have a few exisiting injurys, and tend to ride smart not hard. I have been down the beach a few times but its not enjoyable by yourself.

I will have to find out about clubs, i could only find motocross clubs. I have done Nevis road but will have to look the creek and west dome. I did ask the local shop about trail rides but they said they didn't know of any. I have been on myrides but havent been on any of the rides yet as i tend to be working on the local ones.
