Hi yuh,
I have this friday, the weekend, then monday and tuesday off.
What I was hoping was that in exchange for a crate of beer or your bike tank filled with petrol, someone could take me over bike maintenance for a couple of hours - and then maybe off for a ride.
I'd like to be shown, all the things that need to be regulary checked and those things to watch out for, ie. tyres, brakes, oil, chain
Just how to do those basic things (better getting this info from an experienced person) and then tips of other stuff can never go amiss.
Would be greatly appreciated :)

If you lived in the naki and could fit in with my schedule (shift worker) then I'd be happy to offer. Don't need beer or anything for it, was shown myself for free and don't see why anyone else should pay either. Good luck with finding someone a tad closer and that actually has a bike to ride at the mo :thud:

A "Tim Taylor" DIY workshop night? Sounds up my alley, I'd be interested in a similar thing in Welly...

If someone was to organise one in welly town some of the mechanically incompetent bikers from Palmie may come down. I know one who would be interested :wavey:

This is a useful site if you can ignore the American sabre-rattling and Bible bashing...Pretty hard to ignore considering it took me 3-5 clicks to actually find out anything about motorbikes. This guy has very strong beliefs. Good stuff once you get into it though.

spanner nights are pretty good.
Im slowly bit steadily learning more and more about mine the more I pull it to bits and otherwise break it. best way to learn. also have a good strong ring of contacts you can call when you break it.
I ussually ask Kerry at Motohaus, Bug Juice, Frosty, Colemans, Lou at Amps. but by then my question is ussually answered.
