Friday just gone Z Yaldhurst (chch) to Omarama 15.5ltrs - 304kms with still about 6.5ltrs left , was traveling with family in cars so speeds and overtaking were low.
Id still say 300kms on a tank easy on open road riding.

I'm way off budget for one of these, and freely confess that they've always left me a bit "yeah, it's OK..." From a looks perspective, of course.

Then a week or two ago (and I apologise for this!) I saw a Hayabusa dressed for touring. It looked the absolute business. Somehow, adding kit to it 'finished' it, in my eyes.

In the meantime of ocurse, everyone knows how solid, reliable and fast they are. Superb bikes.

GLWS.

That's better than my GSX-R600 gets. Even when I do keep it to "sensible" speeds. (Which is always, of course, since I never speed...can't be having with sundering the very fabric of the universe by going 105 when the tolerance is only 4km/hr now can we?):Police:

The fuel light comes on at around 265km and needs 15 litres to fill. I have ridden up to 320 before a fill.

21L is what the book says, dunno how much of that is actually usable though. The most I've ever filled up was about 18.5 and that was after riding with the reserve light on for 50km.

The tank size on my 2013 Busa is listed as being 21 litres. Range varies depending on how enthusiastic one uses the throttle of course, but doing distance work it's quite easy to go beyond 300 km without riding like a nana.

Nice bike . Ive sold the Buell and maybe going to something more sedate in my advancing years
I do wonder however why fuel economy should even factor into an ad for the sale of a performance bike.
If you want fuel economy buy a scooter.
If you want to know manufacturers specs do a google search .Its not that difficult
Every ride is different so there is no given.

If you like the bike then buy it .. Fuel will be one of your lesser costs

Good luck with the sale and may you get your next dream bike

Well it didn't get any bids so will be relisted in second week of February. I will be happy with a price somewhere midway between tradein and market value. I would like to keep this bike but the cost of rego and insurance makes owning multiple bikes a bit expensive.

You mean humorous... Some of us find fitting a turbo to a Busa humorous too :innocent:

As recently as last month I've seen new 2013s for $18k so that's gotta put a dampener on second hand prices. Best of luck with the sale.

From home to Blenheim is roughly 310kms. My 2012 'Busa flicks over to reserve just before or after Blenheim, roughly 16-16.5L. That's sitting around 120 where I can. I reckon I get around 21kms /litre which is what I use to calculate fuel stops for the TT's. I've had 380 out of a tank and put in just under 19L.

I've got 48mpg going Wellingotn to Auckland, via National Park and somewhat quickly ;)

And I've managed to put 19.6l into my 'Busa tank.
