Hey guys,

I recently bought a Forza Ciclone 2012 from Trademe, and I'm having a slight problem. I'm new when it comes to Scooters/bikes so I got no idea really. Just wanting to see if anybody here has any suggestions before taking it in to somebody.

So, when I'm accelerating, it goes great (lots of power) and then suddenly at around 30km/h there is a slight flat spot (feels like hardly any power) for about 5 seconds, then it picks up again to about 50-55km/h. Not sure whether this is just how the Ciclones are, or if I need to change something in the carby or something like that. I'm gonna go ahead and derestrict it in case that does something.

Does anybody suggest anything to try to help get rid of this flat spot? Could the carby just need a clean?

Thank you all in advance, I appreciate it.

Turbo lag ..............

But sounds like a carb tuning issue. Lean spot. Or just need a good clean.

A lot of the smaller scooters seem to have a 'flat' spot, often a 10-15kph range where acceleration seems to level out then picks up again.

I had the standard 9g rollers in mine and swapped to 10g rollers and the very same problem became evident. My first thought was to adjust the carb needle. I haven't tried it yet.

I changed mine and the problem persists. Changing the needle changes the problem but it doesn't go away.

It could be an engine flatspot that is only evident with the bigger rollers pulling the rpm down. Next step for me is the try 3X9g and 3X10g rollers. I do like the 10g rollers on the motorway though as the revs are down enough to make 100-110KmH pretty comfortable.
