Hey guys,
This is my beloved 1981 Honda CB650Z. I bought her for my birthday around a year ago, and within two months she broke down and has been broken ever since as I was not in a position to pay for a proper mechanic. Since then, I've foolishly had mechanics (family friends that took meager sums for promised work, then left me with incomplete and parted out carburetors) and now, I'm really left with a huge can of worms. I'm in the Auckland area and, after a year of watching her rot in the garage and be mangled at the hands of two mechanics, I've decided to sell various small assets in order to pay for some proper work done. My question being, does anybody know a motorcycle guru, who they know can fix anything ?
Please let me know.

Issues are, to my knowledge, carburetor and ignition coil related.

Try John at: http://motorcycleworks.co.nz/

Fair rates, very handy with one off type stuff, including fabbing parts he needs etc.

Toby Beadle - Auckland Motorcycle Services - is also good. He comes to you as well, or at least will pick up the bike. In Auckland, out west. Ph (09) 835 1172 or cell 027 445 6568.

Good luck!

Aden at restorace was a nice guy to deal with and very onto it and upfront when he sorted an older bike out for me on an insurance claim:

Buy a workshop manual, some tools and do it yourself.

These things had a issue with the advancer sticking....no one ever lubes them....
a little squirt of CRC every 10,000K is all it takes...
maybe all it was... sounds like more than that now...
