Well normally everyone who's up for it meets at the bottom of Maungaraki Hill in the Hutt at 18:00 then we go for a blat over the takas for a bit followed by laughing at boy racers in the lower hutt carpark and finish off with pool above the Grumpy Mole in Lower Hutt.

Come along it's a hoot. A bit of a drive for you though

Well bowl on down SH2 past upper hutt, when you past the lower hutt turn off take the next exit right. I believe it's sign posted. We meet at the bottom of the hill just off SH2 so you should see us from the road. If you get to Petone lights you've gone too far.

The "other" Thursday night ride ends up at the same destination as the "quick" ride, for the aftermatch entertainment.

Daylight saving is no bloody fun when you're at work the next day, getting up at 4.30 which is effectively 3.30am. Where's my bottle of Red Bull???

Since I've had kids I hate Daylight Saving with a passion. Lose an hour's sleep on the weekend, and then have to function with one kid waking at 5am for 5 months, because he always wakes at 6. It's called a body clock for a reason. It's just so middle class pansies can go to the beach a bit longer in Summer, or walk the dog to sculpt their precious glutes.

Most of the Dairy farmers I've spoken to about it don't give a crap, so that "Government Excuse(tm)" doesn't wash.

And the birds. The poor wee buggers have to get up an hour earlier to regale us with the Dawn Chorus. And our curtains fade something chronic with that extra hour of harsh summer sunlight. And where's the instruction manual for the video so I can reset its clucking fock? Oh for a simple life...

Nobel prize to the dude who came up with daylight saving. Sneaked off work before 5. Dashed home, changed gear and over to Featherston and back in time for tea. Awesome stuff except the wind was up to warp factor 5 but who cares about that. Saw a new SuperDuke coming back too. very nice.
So now daylight saving is not just fading my curtains its wearing out my tyres - and that ones for real.

No shit. Left Mangauraki for Winui coast, got as far as Peton and it pissed down. I turned around and fucked off back to Paraparaparaparalumulumu. Jeez it was a deluge and I was in jeans god damn it. Well so much for the start of buffoonery season.

Am finding it extremly tuff to get up in the mornings.
I found it hard enough as it was without lossing an hour.

The first week is always hard. Still loving the fact that its light to ride over the hill to home each night.

Now all we need is some sun!

Us nannas got as far as wainui. Decided it was a bit too wet. Quite a decent turnout but.

We went and had some wedges and a light drink at the 'mole, plus a few games of pool.

The ride home along the motorway was interesting. Bit like taking a bath in yer lethers. I'm pleased I don't ride a Ducati or Motoguzz with all that water about.

Good to meet you Hitcher, Madboy and Skelstar. 'till next time then!

It's been ages since I've ridden in rain like that! Somehow I managed to dodge all the rain this winter and now at the tail end of it goes and does that! Well that was one way to loosen up the leathers anyway. Ah - next week eh.
