So the Mrs being the legend she is bought us tickets to Phillip island and the superbikes.

I haven't been there so was wondering where the best viewing places were?

Also if you have any other hints I.e. for beating traffic etc that would be great.

She is quite pregnant so I was wondering what the first day was like and whether she just does the last two.

Cheers.

The best viewing is damn near anywhere - Lukey Heights or the Siberia are my favs.

We usually stay on the island for MotoGP, but driving down from Melbourne ain't a big deal - on race day you might take an hour or so to get over the bridge and off the Island but after that it's plain sailing.

Never been there for a GP or SBK which I imagine would be a good. B for the events I've been to Siberia , Lukey, and inside of MG would be great viewing. Inside T 1 not bad and may be exit Turn 2. The other stuff can be a bit hard to get to but I'd spend a day wandering and you'll soon find something you like.

Accom. I always stay at "The Waves" in Cowes, but book early for the events I'm going to. You can also look at Mornington, Frankston area if you can't get anything on the Island.

We stayed in central Melbourne for motogp , it was a 5 min walk to catch a bus out to PI , Bus dropped us right bat the gate , I don't know if the same deal is provided for superbikes. We had seats in the Bass stand., good spot but a long walk. Like there others say almost anywhere is good

Smiths beach is a 15 minute walk, and is quite cheap to get accommodation.

I stayed in Woolamai Beach at a mates Bach in 2006 for the super bikes. It's a few Kay's from the track, but a very nice spot.

Thanks for the replies. So pretty much anywhere is a good place to watch.

I will look into the accommodation suggested and also the bus from central Melbourne.

It's a great track and viewing from any point is pretty damn good.
Bit of a walk to opposite side of track but you got all 3 days to do it.
We stayed in a Bach just out of Cowes and mini van to track.
Get up early and get down there and the traffic wasn't too bad to be fair.
Enjoy!

and also the bus from central Melbourne.

It's a fuckin fair old haul mate (by kiwi standards), although easy highway running.

Do what I did and hire a camper van and stay at the track
Good night life

I went to the Motogp last year, stayed miles away in some fancy accommodation in Inverloch but there is an excellent bus service that takes you right to the circuit. Many pickups, and easy as. www.southcoastbus.com.au
Buses get good priority and entry and exit even on race day is pretty good!
Its a mega circuit and you can walk the whole thing easy, with a preggers mrs though, she might hold you back a bit on that front.
Plenty of great viewing spots, especially Doohan corner, and Siberia.

Have fun
