If you do not know the man, he is from Manchester UK and is riding the world AND racing on his bike Basil! :msn-wink: and not just any bike....
He finished the Dakar 2013 and did it in style, 46th overall in the bike category and in Stage 8 was and 9th across the line for the bikes!

Ever wondered what the road books, the compass, the riders ability to navigate AND is all about?
Here is a good indication of what you have to concentrate on when riding at close to 165 Kph in a competition!

He is one highly motivated individual and a helluva rider. Some of his Rallye vids from the UK are eye watering.
Is he just touring around or doing something competitive?

I think he is just visiting and riding. I also know he is meeting up with Chris Birch at some point, so they might have something extreme planned....:)

I'm hoping he's gonna put on one of his fund raising chat evenings some place close to the Bay, will be well worth a trip to hear 1st hand about his adventures....he's another Guy Martin, a motorcycling legend.

Very appreciative of Lyndon speaking at the Otago Motorcycle Club last night. Big thanks to Trev F for steering him in this direction and setting it up. A very comprehensive, polished and interesting presentation. Wishing him well in the next phase including another tilt at the Dakar.

Glad you got something out of it! :) Nice feedback :woohoo:
I see Basil has hit 100K in New Zealand, so that's cool...
