My Father has a Windows 8.1 PC (which I'll probably do the Win 10 thing on soon).
I'm running Windows 10.
For the "tech support" I do, I'd like to be able to remote-control his PC; but of course in a "safe" way.
Anyone got a recommendation?
I can be on-site for the install, including router fiddling (ports and stuff, if needed), so it doesn't have to be super-easy to install.
Cheers,

I use team viewer to support friends pc's. Works fine on 10. Is free for personal non business use.

Yeup, Teamviewer. Easy to use, the computer connects out to Teamviewer servers, you connect there, no firewall stuff to mess with etc.

http://join.me, by LogMeIn, has been awesome for me remote assisting my Dad.
It's designed as conferencing and remote sharing. The target computer needs to be the initiator of the 'meeting' to share screen, then you can take control.
No logins, personal information, or some such required.

:Off topic: with 159 posts you clearly do more lurking than posting.
It was just Sunday I mentioned you to my wife, about how you loaned me a tent for nationals about 07 or 08 and that was why I bought the tent I did. Isn't it funny how people just pop right up when you talk about them?
