Hi fellow kiwibikers,
I'm currently in Melbourne and looking at the possibility of renting a motorcycle to ride the great ocean road.. Has any body else here rented, where did you go, how were the prices etc?

Or would any of our generous Aussie members like to offer me rental of their spare bike for a few days?

21 years old, 3 years riding experience, restricted license. no major crashes.. One small lowside over 2 years ago when learning. Some trackday experience and a lot of training has been taken.

Enjoy the ride! I only got t Geelong, was crazy bored from the highway there and the thought of having to head back that way was too much so bailed, caught the ferry over and shot back to hoon around the Dandenongs while sipping tea and eating scones :laugh:

Looks like a nice bit of coast though!

Not sure how the Aussies view our licences but you might have a problem renting while on a restricted licence regardless of age or riding history.

Yes I understand, we actually took the LAMS system from the Australian model. Am just wondering if the rental companies follow the same pattern as car rental companies and do not rent to anyone NOT on a full licence for the class. Still, I am sure the OP has thought of that.

Yeah it's the same lams laws, and i had a look at garners and it looks like it should be no issue. :) theyre my best option from research, unless i can find someone that might give me a bit more time, thats why I thought I'd try here. :)
