I'm looking at putting this on my r3.

Does anyone know if these are road legal?

The noise should be ok with the dB killer, but was more wondering on the removal of the cat converter.

There are no draconian rules around modifications to motorcycles, as long as it's not structural and still meets WOF standards. Theoretically could be a no-no on a learners/restricted licence but you'd be pretty unlucky to get pinged for it, or have drawn the attention of someone for other reasons to put them in the mood to go looking for things

Technically without any ECU and/or air flow fine tuning full pipe alone would decrease performance so technically still LAMS approved :innocent:

You obviously have too much money. you're not going to get any more noticeable power, it might sound slightly better. But for how much $$$?

Put that money towards a turbo

Why would you spend so much money on the R3? What a waste.

I wouldn't bother with the full system but I would bother with those cheap akraprovic slip ons. I think they are around $300 and look and sound much better than the stock exhaust.

As others have said - save your money and put it towards a bigger bike.

Those learner bikes with loud exhausts don't sound all that great anyway. You're spending money for sound not performance at that level.

Thanks for the advice.

Dollars aside, it seems like the main reason not to do it will be insurance/license restrictions.

Cheers all

Hang on to your old system, if you crash the bike and its sold as a wreck, the new owner might be a racer who will need some of the old pipe to be legal in the class
