420 horses ... the guys said "it's frightening" .. I bet it is .. running discs front and rear .. twins on the front - but only twin pot ... frightening when you open the throttle ... and frightening when you try to stop it ..

Bags of throttle lag and no engine braking. Going to be interesting to ride.
Still the STP turbine cars made it work well at Indy, so maybe there's a faint hope.

I had a yarn with the guy at the Hamilton swap meet. Unsurprisingly he's in the helicopter industry, I think that's where he works.
I seem to remember that the engine parts are pretty much all over hours for aviation use.

I might know the people that built it - the question is - can I wrangle getting a leg over it?

Yeah, they managed to race by lifting off and then opening the throttle going down the straight so that it spooled down and then spooled back up so that it delivered power in several seconds when the car was coming out of the corner.
Apparently they were terrifying things to drive.

Mate - I wouldn't go near the thing ... open the throttle and instantly you're in another county ...

Favourite quote from the 2014 article...

Jay Leno has a Y2K in his collection.
He tells the story of a guy in a VW inching up to him at the traffic lights to get a closer look at the bike. Leno inched away but the guy in the car kept moving up too. What he didn't realise was that the bike's exhaust was melting his front bumper.

I read an article about the Y2K (not exactly a road test) and the main impression was that the thing was cooking the guys legs. The local version might be a bit of a leg warmer too.

yeah .. kind of ... but I don't think my reactions would be that quick ... 420 horses is insanity ...

Who said my reactions would be quick enough either? My plan would be to not put myself in a position where I needed to rely on my reactions :laugh::laugh:
Going for a jaunt along Ardmore airport for instance.

Mate - you open the throttle on that think on Ardmore you'd be in Papakura before you could blink !!!
But seriously ... I was listening to the engine wind up and down in hamilton and he was barely moving his throttle hand .. could only see his hand move if you looked hard ... God knows what it rides like ..,.
