So this is my first bike, a 2013 Lifan LF250b. Ive had it for a cupla weeks now and had no troubles till i lost all throttle and had to have it looked at. I would have done it myself but when I took the cover off the fuel tap to get to the carb, I noticed a black box in the middle of the fuel lines. I thought "what is this" and didnt wanna touch it.

So after some $ exchanged hands, I was told it was part of the emissions set up, a solenoid that shuts off the fuel line. They removed all that caffuffle, but now im left with all this stuff still sticking out, when I could clearly gain a bit of knee room by moving the fuel tap and that other hexagonal shaped thingy into where the solenoid was.

So my question is, are these gravity specific, as in, can I remount these at different angles to where they are now?

I ask this because ive noticed on the virago's that the hexagonal shaped thingy is vertical, not horizontal, and if i changed mine to a vertical mount it would give me a cupla extra inchs of leg room.

The solenoid used to fill the gap between the fuel tap and the block, and above the hexagonal shaped thingy

im not trying to swap carbs, i want to move things around, remount the fuel pump asy and fuel tap for a few inchs of leg room.

I just wanted to know if i move them round, will it affect the fuel flow, but it looks like it doesnt

I can't see bugger all to indicate what that hexagonal thingy might be, but I'd guess a diaphragm fuel pump? Which can generally be mounted in any orientation; and is in fact generally not required until the fuel level gets very low.

In an case, it isn't a carb, which you couldn't reposition.
