I have heard that there is a new price and bike limit at Hamton Downs for the garages.

3 bikes per side at $150.00 per side pre booked or $170.00 on the day.

Does anyone know if this is correct?

Last Playday day on Feb 20th it was $25/bike, 6 bikes / side. It was also that on Feb 7th. It's a bit cramped but ok.

$50/ bike, 3 bikes a side prebook or $70/bike on the day

Are the prices for AMCC Race day.

Playday is still only charging $25/bike (6 bikes per side) as of 20th February.

They actually work out to be the same $150/ side

Invest in a pit tent and set up shop 5 meters behind the pit lane, problem solved.

Hi People, yes it was the last Playday at Hampton's on Sunday. A sad day and out of our control, we were told only 2 weeks ago that all our bookings were to be moved to the little 1.1k track and that a $30 health and safety tax was to be imposed on all entrants without any notice, this would start from the 1st July. We were also told that Playday would not be allowed to host any bike events at Hamptons. When we asked if our existing bookings would be honoured as Playday had already advertised and sold many spots to people the answer was “NO” This left us no choice but to cancel the events we had booked, refund to all those that had pre-paid and also apologise to all our customers for mucking them around. Playday has had an awesome 6 years at Hampton's and made some really good friends and given plenty of smiles but that chapter has closed but all is not bad, Playday will be offering days on a regular basis at Puke, Taupo and Manfeild. Thanks for all the support guys, we will see you at the race track real soon. Cheers, The Playday Team

Have seen responses to that on facebook I think it was. two sides to each story, and they are saying that playday are the ones who cancelled their own bookings, not the other way around?

Don't think so, HD have basically completely revamped the way they're running track days. Basically an excuse to extort people out of an additional $30 per track day, plus some random $50/year charge for.....reasons.

...reasons.

209 reasons, to be exact.

The membership charge is not a lot of use to out of town visitors. Removes any incentive to go all that way for a test day if you've got to join their club just so they've got you on their mailing list for advertising purposes.

I had to laugh at the quote attributed to Sloan on the website that $170 per day was world class value...Has he never been to the South Island ?

The club membership is for insurance.

Sloan's comments were deleted from Facebook by Playdays. Tony Quinn got on there personally and things calmed down about it after he pointed out a couple things. HD was $35,000,000 in debt when he bought it, that wasn't decreasing because the users weren't paying enough to cover costs. He has no issues with bikes, he has started motoHD to cater to us.

Never saw facebook, don't give a toss what was said there.

If it's for insurance, say so up front instead of making it a joining fee for a club which an out of town visitor will have no use for.
If it is insurance, say it's a one off fee per year which will cover X number of visits...
Too many of these things are an excuse to get you on a mailing list which will make money for advertisers.
