Just want to know what you use to clean tyres without making it unsafe. Like tyre paint or any sprays?

Why would you need to clean your tyres?

Rag/brush and some hot water, that's all the cleaning they need. Just don't use any spray of any sort on your tyres in an attempt to make look good.

Soapy water and a sponge, then rinse thoroughly. If you're serious about tyre paint or dressing, then I'd seriously suggest you sell the bike and buy a Corolla...:innocent::angry2::woohoo:

I clean my tyres with brakleen on a cloth and wipe tread. Only do it after fitting tyres and it's nothing to do with making them look pretty.;)

To the above posters who don't wash....
What happens when you wash your bikes? do they get wet? or when you ride in the rain? do they get wet? is that dangerous?

Read and listen to the above posts Swivel, the rest just question your question and offer no advice.

Wash the bike first with plenty of soapy car wash hose off.
When dry on the side walls a little black nugget with a brush ,buff to a shine .
Don't do the tread and do not use silicone .

The whitewalls on the HD some times get cleaned with Jiff, yes I know but it does make them white again.
If its black and going in a show I use boot polish on black tyres, it lasts for months.

Ride in the rain and crank it right over to really get into those sidewalls.

Rub them against something hard and the same colour so as not to discolour them. Tarmac works OK.

Nothing wrong with wiping tyre shine on. Apply it to a rag, and wipe it onto the sidewall only. Of you're bike is an absolute mint looking machine it makes a difference. If not, don't bother.
