Noticed today when pulling on my front brake lever while stationary that instead of a smooth progression from on to off it was coming on in stages, like a stutter. Worked it on and off a few times with the same result, when underway it felt smoother and actual braking performance was same as usual.
'scuse the ignorance, but just wondering if this a symptom I need to get someone to check out for me?

i'd be dismantling and cleaning the lot. Prossibly a sticking piston, at either end. Prossiley fucked seal, squared off o ring....

Easy stuff first. Undo the bolt that holds the lever blade on and take the blade out. Clean and grease the pivot, reassemble. I do that once a year on all our bikes.

This. It sounds like the pivot is full of grit.

Then if that doesn't fix it (but is right thing to do first) the brake pistons could be partially and unevenly seized.
