On the other hand, some bikes are cheaper here.
And second-hand are invariably cheaper here.

New GSXR750's for 14'xxx...Wonder where you had got to. Is that Aus or NZ $'s?
New CBR600RR is $15,995NZ here.
Wish I had new money cause a New Blackbird is $16,995NZ (so is the VFR800F). Back in 2003 you would have paid $22,995 for a new VFR800F2 (the BB's were about the same).

but how much to ship to NZ and then get complied? I'd think around the $500 mark for shipping, where it may get damaged... then its $150 for the compliance then rego... suppose it still comes out cheap, but you have to go to aussie to sort it all out!

Can't speak for the VFR's tho?
And as for better pricing in Aussie, comes as no huge surprise, and it's of no real benefit to us unless we go over there and ride it! So I take it you're going over Felix?

Summer is coming. The New Zealand dollar is strong. Honda is already discounting. Watch this space...

good call... theres a bunch of other pressures on the leisure dollar too like mortgage interest rates climbing reducing discretionary income, and economic uncertainty.
that ZX636 I like is getting more attractive by the day....

It'll be a bit more than $500, plus vinning, reg and WOF. And don't forget 12.5% GST. Possibly no warranty either.
Still a bargain?

the GST will cancel except for 2.5%. You'd get a refund of the AUS GST content if exporting.
the kicker is the NZ value is landed i.e. including freight. THEN they add GST here.

Bikes may be cheaper, marginally, but they have double demerit points on long weekends and public holidays, cops with guns :2guns: who arrest you for excessive speed and comparatively crap scratching roads, with a few exceptions such as the great ocean road which is of course very heavily policed. There is no speed limit in parts of the Northern Territory, but the roads are all dead straight for hours on end and its hot, hot, hot. NZ Rocks, count your blessings.

Glad you didnt mention the Beer that's a good reason to stay here, and the fact is there are better roads here unless you like riding 200k's of freeway to go down 30kms winding road which is heavily policed - Not My Idea Of Fun.
