Anyone else here (Canterbury region primarily) also into mountaineering ??

I'm liking the idea of a ride in to Lawrence Biv and doing Arrowsmith or Jagged............

any takers ??

So you want to do this (http://www.remotemoto.com/articles/lawrence-river-ride/) then walk further...
I really want to say yes, for sure, that sounds great, and it does sound great, but unfortunately I doubt I could handle it. The ride looks tough and then there's the walk after, I got no mountain experance so probably be a bit risky with me along.
I'd have a guess Ryan Cooney (original DB1K organiser) might have been up for it if you went on MTBs, seems he can be found doing that sans engine stuff more than anything else now days.

Dam I would need the CRF150 regoed..
light & small enough to drag , push , pull... & not to forget
pick up over & over again...

Prolly trailer to Methven, Mt Sommers or Hakatere to start would be a sensible option...

When's all this happening...

When I find someone else sufficiently mad enough to join me...

always a lunatic or two around... yer just need to look harder...

both my bikes could be a bit short of the fuel range needed... TTR250 only
has 9.5 liters...crf about 7 liters...

other wise I could be tempted...

Shouldn't be much of an issue. We could park up at ashbutton gorge rd from where it's just 12ks to the biv, or up at station from where it's only 6! Or we can share my Enduro tank if we want more riding....
