Hey
I'm heading over to Japan mid Sept to ride around the country for a month.
I have my NZ restricted license, am I able to get an IDP? Or do I need to have a full?

I understand the IDP is just a conversion of you license conditions

No. "An IDP can only be issued to a full licence holder who is over 18 years of age."
