It does look nice, but I am still waiting for the all new KLR.

Come on Kawasaki next year is the 30th anniversary of the current model!! Shoot the accountants and spend some coin on r&D ffs.

Why not ? The WR's, YZ's, and the new "cross country" models all have them

Yeah and looks too small to be a "Super Tenere" though. Maybe just an artist impression as Pete suggests.

There are some "spy" shots taken near a Yamaha factory of a Tenere styled bike in development I believe with a 700cc MT07 motor.....google it.....the photo I saw didn't look anything like this one

Defo an artists impression Imho, having recently clogged a front mudguard..., but a 700cc Tenere prototype is doing the rounds in Italy, looks like the 660 after a big night out. If Yamaha have picked up the accessory baton, as the Euros have, then maybe they are planning on offering a "how dirty do you want to get?" option.

Nice thought.

Yamaha have just released the XSR range, i think they gave a bunch of bikes to builders to create some hype, possibly the same thing here?
