Hello,

I'm new here and also new in NZ, I arrived with my partner 6 months ago to work in Wellington!

What a great country you guys have for riding!!!

I'm originally from Brazil (São Paulo) and I lived 4 years in Germany (Berlin).

I'm 32, used to ride motorcycles in my country since 18, but "retired" at the age of 27 after a stupid crash :|

But the motorcycle spirit never died inside, so now I am back!

I bought a brand new Yamaha R3 last weekend and I'm loving it!

Oh man how good it is these 300cc bikes these days!

My partner is already getting her learner's license and wants another R3 for Xmas LOL.

Next weekend we'll be on our first trip (Wellington > Martinborough > Masterton > Castlepoint > Wellington).

If someone wants to join, that would be great. Just PM.

Hope to have some fun riding across NZ with this bike!

Cheers!

See if you can fit in a side trip to Lake ferry and Ngawi to the lighthouse.

Good suggestion, I've being to that lighthouse by car only and it was pretty nice.
Worth a ride again! Thanks!

Some great riding to be had around the Wairarapa, is it all sealed out to the lighthouse? it's been years since I was last out there. Castlepoint is another destination well worth the effort.

No, it is not 100% sealed yet, you'd ride on some gravel unfortunately, so if you wanna keep a clean bike, don't go there :)

Still eh, the Rimutaka's area great start and finish to anyone living in Wellington wanting to spend a day on a bike.

Great area to ride that's for sure.
Seem to remember roads along side river from Lake ferry to Martin borough. Good place to stop for lunch
