Looking for a tuning cable I could buy/borrow/lease.

Really all I'm after is confirmation that the data I got off the dyno and the scope is reasonable.

I'm sure one of the flash tuning companies offer the ability to back up and view the stock base map, if anybody could send me this base map file I would also be interested.

the flash tune cables are licensed to a single ECU - activated when you first use it - so borrowing someone else's cable will not allow you to do anything. You'd need to buy a kit youself (not cheap) (from FTECU or Veloxracing both of who I have had good experiences of).

Are you trying to compare current settings against stock settings? if you enjoy mucking around with settings / tuning then its worth buying the kit to do it all yourself - and you will never need a power commander again

Hmm, interesting.

I'm actually putting a Link ECU in it, so I'll be starting with an ignition table of zeros. The ignition map in the bike now will give me a direction to go in rather than fumbling around in the dark trying to find MBT for each cell.

So what I really want is a screenshot of the ignition table from somebodies r6.

gotchya - will the tables of the link ecu and the stock one be scaled the same though?

Id suggest hitting up an R1 or R6 specific forum, I doubt it will take long for someone to give you what you need if screenshots are all you need to work from

actully - can I ask why youre going with a LINK ecu, instead of just getting the flashtune kit?

Umm, maybe. I honestly don't know. I think the numbers in the stock ecu ignition table will represent the ignition angle BTDC which is what the ignition table in the Link will show. The transmission time will be different but I can work with that. But I'm learning as I go here.

I'll hit up the american r6 forums :)

I actually work for Link, I'm a software engineer. This is a 'wee' extracurricular project for me to get to know the product from a tuner perspective.

I'm blogging my progress, I'll share it on here when I've got a little more content/direction.

I run VeloxRacing who distribute FTecu, amongst other products, if I can help in any way email me at sales@veloxracing.com :msn-wink:
