Do any of yous guys know where in Auckland might be able to refurbish Bitubo shocks? My Lambretta's rear shock has well seen better days, but the mechanical bits all look to be in good nick still.

I guess you could try a scooter shop.........(like Scooter e Motion)??

but apart from that the best guy I know for working on shocks is Craig Brown at Colemans (whether he's familiar with Bitubo shocks I dunno but he works on various makes and models). He re-built a shock for me that was supposed to be unrebuildable, he's a clever bugger

Dont be a fool buy a brand new one, Most people say lambrettas are unreliable, thats a load of shit its because people spend the wrong money in the wrong places, If your gonna spend $2k on a paint job you can spare $300 for a new shock I think kevin even has some instock, Do it once and do it right.

Having a spare $2k for a paint job is a little way in the future Googie old mate, have you any idea how much an Imola kit, Varitronic and Mikuni carb costs plus Andrew's time to rebuild the thing? Neither do I, they're still adding it up!

Seriously though, A reckons it's basically sound and just needs the seals sorting the rod's in good nick still so it'd be a shame to bin it.

It's going to be on the road for the 1st year run, Oh yes. :headbang:

There is a scooter out there (Peugeot? Texmo'll know) with a supercharger on it.....but no doubt we're in for some original joke about hairdriers now.

Ha ha, some scooter eh? No, unfortunately this (http://www.biker247.com/news/2454.asp) is it. It's french so all the plastic will fall off in a couple of weeks then the mechanicals should run forever.

Shame they dont have some specs listed for it . . .

Apparently out at Greenlane hospital there is a guy who parks his hayabusa in a carpark with a big "SCOOTERS ONLY" sign painted in yellow on the ground . . . good man! (or girl, for that matter).

Mate I just bought a second hand bitubo and rebuilt it myself for 48 bux aussie. It depends on what kind of bitubo it is. If it is the adjustable one with the knob on the tank forget it, you can replace the seals (the kit is about 35 aussie dollars from sip) but you wont be able to regas it. The one i bought is an older one with a nipple for regassing on the tank. If it is the same as my one it is a piece of piss to rebuild, get a repair kit bitubo 0014 then take it apart replace the seals, put it back together with the correct amount of fork oil in it, then get it regassed with any type of inert gas (usually tyre joints that do nitrogen refills for tyres are the best) and pump it to 130psi.
