a new high score, since the 80s!
every weekend should be like this.
http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/80786123/queens-birthday-holiday-road-toll-reaches-eight
obviously, the police should have more money for this. it's not as if i didn't see enough of the cunts (800km trip there and back)
fucken, SAFETY!!!!!010111!!
and, for good measure, one pulled a Uey in front of me, not far out of a corner, on a back road, while i may have been exceeding the posted speed limit.
be vigilant, o motorcycling elite, they walk among yous.
Cool story bro, you should buy a motorbike (sorry I don't mean to tease ) statistics tend to favour = 1/11.

What were you towing the caravan with akz?
Joshin. That stuff headline pissed me off. 11 deaths and inanimate tarmac is to blame?

If I had time, effort, money and an in depth understanding of the legal system - it would be interesting to launch some form of class action to sue the NZ Govt/police in regards to their lower tolerance over public holidays

i like the bit where it says
"The high risk groups: drunks, motorcyclists, tourists, very young drivers and very old drivers, already think they're driving okay."
...and then has a photo of a binned curtainsider.
and "motorcyclist fatally collided with a parked car"
srsly, do we REALLY want these people to be alive?

So is any high up cop going to fall on his sword over the total failure of every idea they have tried (and tried and tried, even though the ideas are not working)
Yeah right!

wrt: the legal system you only need to remember the handy slogan: "with jews, you lose"
their system exists to a) keep jewdges lawerjews and teh crown paid up with jewgold and b) make middle class god fearin white folk feel lke the crown deserves their confidence/jewgold and keep em working.
and i cant even imagine what you'd hope to achieve or why you'd pick THAT amongst/above so much other horseshit governmentium faggotry.

well no, it's not THEIR fault, because people didn't roadcode.
(plus the christmas party's already paid for so issuing more notices is a bit pointless from here on in)
who *actually* needs to fall on a sword (maybe theirs, maybe not) is every fucking politician, SUV driver, aucklander, and stuff reporter.
teh police are doing their job (enforcing crown policy), and while following orders is no excuse, you're better to look to the cause than the symptom. otherwise you'll just jew shit up.

Mrs Goat was on the rag?
Trees and a parked car featured in 5 out of 11 deaths. What does that say about driver ability to understand what they are meant to be doing - being stay on the road and watch where you are going and adjust speed to suit. These people must have been to the same driver/rider school as Andrea Ianonne - barrel on no matter what - oops there's a Yamaha/tree/parked car - oops too late, hit it!!

I drive/ride just fine. Until I don't, then it gets hairy.
ie - as per every other driver.
Shit roads - come down here, we were not overly featured in the stats so don't blame the roads.
It's so much easier when a tourist takes out a few - easy to blame then. Now a drunk, sexually active (media hints of BJ's or masturbation just before the accident) non English speaking tourist on the wrong side of the road carving up the locals the media love.
Maybe Hi-viz bonnets and boots on all cars ........

It's the roads.
Nah, it's the weather.
Fine weather means more vehicles on the road. If the weenend road toll figures was quoted as deaths/km travelled then it would probably be pretty much the same as any other QB weekend.

Depends - if you assume the point of the exercise was to win, then yeah - it is stupid.
If the point of the exercise however was not to win but to show the NZ public that either:
A) The NZ Police enforcement policies have direct impact on the road toll and therefore the highest toll in 20 years must be the result of criminal negligence
Or
B) the NZ police enforcement policy have no impact whatsoever and so they are guilty of fraud by means of the lowered tolerance
The victory would be in the court of public opinion

It's actually a combination of weather and fuel price....The lowest road death year was the year that fuel prices were highest....
So ultimately deaths per km done is probably staying the same.

meh.
The number of kms i need to/ do in a year isnt affected by either. Nor, i imagine, the trucking industry, taxis, crackhead polices, etc.
And yet the number of crashes in my 'mature' piloting career remains steadfastly 0
What could it all mean.

again, attacking the symptom, not the cause. You should do big-pharma bro.
Do you really believe it's their enforcement of the policy?
or rather the policy they're enforcing...
More to the point, are townies just too stupid to be allowed on the roads?

One drives the other and both are susceptible to judgements from the Court of Public Opinion, if done right, it could work - but as I said, I lack the necessary prerequisites to accomplish such a feat.

which public's opinion picked 100km/h?

which public's opinion picked 100km/h?
probably the people that like nice round numbers, probably a bunch of ex-pat brits who are used to 60 mph speed limits for country roads (which is what NZs roading realistically is)
and then eventually some politician who was given control, who closed his eyes tight, moved his finger around on a bit of paper, slammed it down to randomly pick one (as it seems most major political decisions in this country are made)
