Ok so this is a pretty newbie question, but if i'm looking for certain consumable parts, is there a 'best' website located in NZ?

I'm talking filters, perhaps OEM parts?

Or do you guys just order online or let the shop take care of it?

99%* of KiwiBikers seem to purchase 'DP' brake pads from RideLife (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=3411612) on Trademe.

(*Figures quoted May or May not have been pulled out of my arse)

Looks good! What about like Oil Filters, Air Filters, suzuki oem parts?

I am just sick of the shipping from the states :(

Your call, either pay shipping or at least twice the US price if you buy in NZ.

Some US retailers, like Partzilla, have pretty reasonable international shipping now, or you can use a US based freight forwarder like the NZ Post one.

I do try to buy locally, but it can be such a pain shopping online in NZ.

i got old school suzukis, need a lot of little parts from time to time, i wanted them soon or not, my habit was to sit on line and order late at night, not much really in terms of dollars but your pay a bit on freight.
a short while ago i ordered four parts through local suz dealer, two parts were a slice cheaper than overseas, and the others weren't more than 10% cheaper than here, well impressed.
Freight options were simple, pay a bit for quick delivery or wait, these bits are for a 1981-2 bike so expect to have them take some time.

I've always tried to buy engine comsumables locally. Darbis have always carried a good range of cam chains and valve stem seals and similar parts.

Some years back they stopped carrying Vesrah gasket sets which was annoying, I heard yesterday that they're no longer carrying valve stem seals.

This alone will put a serious crimp in my engine rebuild times and i doubt if i'm the only one affected. Strange move IMO...

Oil filters, air filters etc - I just go to the dealers, usually. The Ducati dealership is actually pretty well connected and sorted out in terms of OEM parts. If it's an aftermarket item then the local TSS is a pretty good bet.
