I've gotta jack me bike up, whip the front hoop off, get a 'new' tyre thrown on, and then get a warrant. Anyone in CHch got a front stand? I'll try to get there.
Edit: D! I didn't think you believed in running bikes in??

Also if I do get the "other" bike on Sat, SG, you can use that.
I'll be offline tonight because of the laptop visiting the neverworld so if you want to get hold of me text me on 021 48 or phone me on 36. Like I say, Aaron, did you want to use my bike?

HUh.... just ride it into Pitlane and let them do it costs no extra :apumpin: Erm- it's a bit more complicated than that. Once upon a time I bleated on KB about needing a new front tyre. Some generous soul offered me their front tyre as they were getting a new one "Hardly worn they said" Unbeknownst to me the generous soul got a bit carried away on it, went out and SHAGGED the tyre LOL. I dropped into Pitlane to pick it up, and Don said "Nah, I biffed it mate- it was fucked", then he sold me a slightly used Metzeller for $20 or $30. Said, "bring in just the wheel only and I'll chuck it on". Hence I need to take the wheel only in.
I dont, its an excuse for a spin
No fibs now D. Your BABYING that sucker aren't you? Worried bits will fall off or something?

Just had a call from the doc today at 9:45 saying that tonight I have to go in and have the fluid drained off my knee (OUCH!!!!!!) and if they see fit they can do an arthroscopy at the same time. So either I will be too sore to come, or hyped on drugs that I will be flying and OK to come.
But the plan is at this stage I'll be going.

So either I will be too sore to come, or hyped on drugs that I will be flying and OK to come. To sore to come?? Bah! I've never been too sore to come! Lol Tony.
Ok, heres the deal you sadistic buggers. I have just phoned the doctor and said to him that if I have surgery may I go on the ride. The answer I got was he did not want me riding for 6 weeks after the op. BULLSHIT. If I can take my full license with my leg in a cast I can go for a ride on Sunday.
Anyway the doc swore at me and said if I am adament about riding on Sunday I should ride something like a harley so Im not bending my knee. Anyway, any semi cruiser or cruiser that wont involve me having to put my knee down to turn a corner is good. Unfortunatly I dont have one and would like to ask if anyone of you nice people would loan me one or pillion me?

OK- interesting day. Couldn't get me front wheel off (no front stand-yet), the bloody thing is so front heavy that there is no where I can jack it up without the back wheel coming up too. Heavy old bitch :oi-grr:
So that foiled the mornings plan. MrsB took Lexie to a Bday party, Zach and I spent a few hours cleaning months of neglect off the bike. Looks almost clean now! MrsB wants me to take it round to D's house so he can finish the job properly. Zach was playing with a toy car- next thing he's going "CAR! CAR!" and standing by the pipe. OH SHIT! I hustle around there to see a dinky sitting well inside the pipe. Took ages to fish it out LOL
Noticed while cleaning what looked to be a nail in the back tyre. Great:oi-grr:. Tyre was still inflated, so I figured Don could take a look when he did the front. MrsB came back from the party VERY LATE!:oi-grr: So I hustled into town. Haven't riden anything except my bucket in a v long time. "Shit this is heavy" I did think. Then twisted the right hand grip did I " SHIIIIIIIIT". Bit quicker than the bucket...
Don threw the new front on. Then extracted the nail- yep- punctured. So he did a temp repair. Pumped her up and sent me on my merry way. Refused to take more than $20. Shit he's a good bloke! Buy all your tyres from Don. I command you!
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo, the reason for this ramble is, I have a request. Can we please not leave until at least 11:30 am. I still haven't got a WOF. Please??

we head of to Loburn to pick Kickaha and diesel Pig up, and just after that we all (apart from a few) took a very nice senic ride on some awesom light hilly roads.... then headed back to find the others
A nice scenic ride? there was a reason for that!
As we rode past straight past the BIG SIGN that pointed left and said Ashley Gorge I was wondering where we were going as the road we headed up gives you the option of turning around and coming back the same way or riding Lees Valley (50-60km of shingle) it quickly became very obvious that the guy (who shall remain nameless but who has just bought a new Guzzi ) didn't know where he was going :finger:
Diesel Pig gave the GSX1100 a bit of a squirt to pull up behind the nameless Moto Guzzi rider and I thought he was going to pull him over and tell him just what a cock he was but he was to interested in seeing just how far we would get before the Moto Guzzi rider woke up and realised his mistake, a little bit up the road Guzzii rider finally wakes up to the fact he has no idea where he is going and pulls over and we tell him where to go
We head back to the turn off and head off to the gorge, the road is quite fast and flowing with some tighter corners at the Ashley Gorge end and we were getting along at a medium pace, just past the Gorge we turn off and head down some other roads to Cust and bypass Oxford completely, I just about stuff up one 60km corner and end up very near the edge of the road on exit but they say a miss is as good as a mile and carry on to the Cust pub
After arriving at the pub we realise we're about 6 short but they're soon tracked down to the Oxford pub and turn up about 1/2 hour later, where after the usual beer, coke pies and bullshit we all head off home :niceone:

I really did wonder where the hell D was going, but I just followed blindly. Hubby stopped just before the proper turnoff and I never saw him again.

It would have been nice if someone had waited at the turn off - I was riding with Skyrider behind me, happily travelling to Oxford as i wasn't really sure where we were going!!
After arriving at the pub we realise we're about 6 short but they're soon tracked down to the Oxford pub and turn up about 1/2 hour later, where after the usual beer, coke pies and bullshit we all head off home :niceone:
yes I was one of the 6. I really wanted to be back in CHCH by 2:15 at the latest and it was 1:45, so I went home via the tram road, having no actual idea where everyone else really was!!!
I now know where the tram road goes to, very boring road.
Did not get to chch in time for what I wanted - just missed the open home by a matter of minutes. Hubby was nowhere to be seen and I got home about 2:40pm. What a ride, don't actually want to repeat that one! :argh:

Well, when we turned up at the Cust pub... he was sitting out on the porch (rd side) with a beer and pie... he looked quite content
I seen her doing the Guzzi wave a couple of times,
LOL... mate I dont know what the Guzzi wave is I have no idea what 1/2 turn 40mm cabs are like with chevy rear suspension springs as slide returns I aint no 'real Guzzi' rider :niceone:
Thanks for jacking the ride up Dangerous, was a good afternoon out :niceone:
No worries man, nice tidy bike ya have there, sorry I dident get a chance to have a chat with ya.
Look Kickaha.............. the unnamed Guzzi rider was more than happy to take my 'brand new' Guzzi on a 60k ride through shingle, river crossings and to a alttitude of 300m and finish up with a shingle slide back down the other side of Lees vally...... not my fault you soft cock Japp riders cant handle a little adventure.

Huh? What you talking about, Willis?
Um, lets see.... as soon as I got home mention was made -quite loudly- of the time period "five and a half hours". Admittedly for 1.5 hours of that I was sat on me arse waiting for a WOF. And then we spent a fair amount of time ... erm... helping out. So the actual ride time would have been more like 3 hours. But we all ride for enjoyment- for me personally it is a fantastic stress reliever- but yesterday after making 17 people wait for nearly an hour and then coming home to a grumpy wife I was actually quite depressed.

Yep it was finally good to meet TonyB and damn, I only just realised he knows where I live  Thats ok, I'll just stalk him until he gives in and tells me :bleh:
Must be something with Guzzi riders getting lost. I seem the hear it all the time  Anyway, how did the bike go dangerous?
Well, after a few weeks I should be able to join you all on the ride.

Hey Tony don't sweat the small stuff. There were lots of those who arrived before you  whom I had not met before. So for me anyhow it was a chance to chat to some new KBers (well new to me) and make rude comments about Dangerous' guzzi.
Glad to see you made it. Not easy balancing the needs of the family and having a blast once in a while. Although reading your other thread it would seem you got thru the "late" return home OK.

Part of my peculiar psychological makeup is that I HATE being late for ANYTHING. Having 17 people stand around and wait for me is not my cup of tea. Maybe that's why I ride a sprots bike?
I survived the late return- barely. :dodge: I can do the ride on t'other thread because MrsB will be at work and the kids (hopefully) at preschool.
And yep, balancing family/ riding/ racing/ working on old bikes/ new business/ work is not easy, as I'm sure heaps of peeps here know all too well. MrsB and I have been discussing this this morning.
