Ok boys and girls, you should be well aware of the Thursday night rides in Welly's by now.
Meet at bottom Maungaraki Hill (Dowse Drive - by the lights on SH2) at 6.15-6.30pm, then off for a fairly short ride somewhere, then to Riverbank carpark to meet up with TOTNR and watch some idiots, then to Breaker's Pool Room (above Grumpy Mole in High Street).
All bikers welcome. While these are often a fairly 'quick' ride, there is no pressure and regular stops means no one gets left behind.

Ditto. This is the most full-on Uni week of my life so I think I'll be needing some "time out". See you all then.

And then there's TOTNR. Same Bat-time, same Bat-place, different Bat-channel, for the comparatively somewhat more sedate. Weather permitting...

Anyone got a weather forecast? I'm seeing showers at the moment... and we all know the Repsol stickers peel off in the rain.

Pathetic wave this evening mate. What wave? Did I pass you? When and where?
If you were on your old hack sitting comfortably within a safe zone in a slow moving lane than it's your own fault, you should know I only pay attention to flash shiney sportsbikes!!

I was turning left up into Korokoro so I can avoid the traffic and have some fun. You lifted your hand as you went by. You shoulda hit me in the helmet.

Fine at first, but cloud increasing during the afternoon and scattered rain developing for a time in the evening. Northwest winds becoming strong and gusty.

Which roughly translates to being equal to the following phrase:
"The US expects to win the war on terror."
Tomorrow's much like today in regard to the weather. You get it more right than the weather service by obeying that little rule.

(Duh, stupid question, of course I was!) I tend not to do much more than lift a few fingers when splitting, that extra half-second to get hand back on the bars is important to me... Of course, I could have slowed down but that sort of logic goes against all principles I hold near and dear!!

Weather is still good although wind is picking up a little. Hope it holds.
I guess we won't be going over Paekak due to the new speed restrictions. :)

Well. So much then for the inaugural meeting of the Wellington Aqualung Motorcycle Club... Talk about wet. Skelstar and I rode back together from the Grumpy Mole to Ngaio. I have ridden in wetter conditions at night but not by much. Positively aquatic. We tacked amongst vessels rather than wove between vehicles.
Anyhoo, next week will be finer! (Can't get any wetter).
The Grumpy Mole does most excellent wedges. Many thanks to the purveyors responsible for the comestibles.
