Just been having a read through MNZ rules in particular appendix f for super sports and noticed chains can be changed as long as pitch isn't effected...I assume this means I can do a 520 conversion?

I was actually interested in a 428 conversion which seems popular in UK for the Daytona and seems to offer better gearing options BUT think this would also change the pitch of the chain so wouldn't be allowed in the super sport class?

Can someone confirm I'm right/wrong before I go out and buy a new chain that's no use!!

"note although 415 420 and 428 are the same pitch, the rollers are bigger on a 428.

Also it shows you can't do a 428 conversion and be rule legal.

So 525 currently fitted on Daytona I could change to 520 as pitch is the same but couldn't go down to 428 as pitch is different?

I believe that the rule was written that way precisely to allow the 525 to 520 conversion as 520 is almost as strong as 525 but much lighter and therefore better for racing.
