Just wondering if there is a race class for bikes 97/98? A historic type deal I guess it would be or that to recent?

No, in a word. Not specfically, but Clubmans is an all enveloping class for waifs and strays.

Cool, thanks for that. Kinda what I had thought as its not old enough. Bikes a bit special to be run in a full balls out current class.

VMCC offers a suitable class (in either of its Thunderbike sub-classes).
http://vicclub.co.nz/2016-class-regulations/

The Thunderbike concept grew out of the older/original "90s Carb classes" recognising that there were likely a lot of bikes that were no longer being used.

Recognising the fact your from Auckland - the trip down is likely an inconvenience; maybe you could twist someone else's arm to share the pain.

Other option is HMCC

There is a discussion somewhere about a new postie class pre95.
This seems the next logical generational step. 916s out in force..

Cheers, cant really see me heading down to Manifield for every race. And couldnt see where it would fit in the Thunderbike classes being a litre twin.

Would be a giggle though.

...I bet they get to hear that a lot when it comes to sign on too...I can see the same old shit happening with pre 96 being the class were ineligible pre 89s, the ones built after that date are sent to, but lots will want to race their 97-98 machinery...nothing changes...just classes...
