I have a 1998 Suzuki TL1000s in my possession that has pretty much been sitting in storage since 2008.

I left her for a week at Colemans and the guys got her going (blew a whole heap of black shit over the workshop when first started up apparently) - but quoted at least $3-4k of work required to get her road legal again.

It has done around 60,000km, and been dropped at some stage as evidence by the slide marks on the tank etc.

For what I paid for the bike, it doesn't make sense to spend the $3-4k, based on what the value would be once on the road again.

I don't want to keep it myself and so are faced with the question - is it worth finding a buyer for her as is, or do I spend the time stripping her down and selling off parts.

So I turn to the trusty KB community for their intelligent thoughts / opinions / values you would give it in her current state or stripped for parts.

Do you know what the '$3-4k' of quoted work is for?

If you are unable to do the work yourself it would be a lot easier selling it saying it needs "..... and ....." done to it as someone able to do it would likely realise it may cost them less than half of that to do themselves.

It's a runner then? Mechanically OK?

$3-4 to be road legal? Need re-Vinning? Tyres, Brake lines maybe?

$3-4 is a fair whack of coin so I too would be interested in what it would be spent on.

Yes def need to know what exactly has been quoted on, hard to say otherwise. If she is running fine that makes a huge difference!

Whatever, don't forget to put it on Tardme so we all can come along and laugh in the "optimistic sellers" thread. :devil2:
