MT07 exhausts

Anyone owns MT07 with an akrapovic exhaust in Wellington with the baffle out?

Just want to know how loud it will be.

Alternative exhausts would be fine. Thinking of modding my bike but I don't want to piss off the neighbours either.

Thanks. I was actually wondering if I could meet up with a forum member from Wellington to actually hear it in person. its hard to tell from videos.

Although baffle out means mucking around with tuning anyway so it could mean running different exhaust systems instead of the akra which is hella expensive anyway. But bottom line is I don't want to wake up half the neighbourhood because I do leave for work quite early and come home in the evenings so just want to know how loud is loud. Could stick to stock if its not even worth mucking around with.

Well I can tell you from experience that the Akra with the baffle in is definitely not too loud. It sounds very nice, deep, but subtle.

Trust me, you wont be annoying anybody with the baffle in.

Another great thing about the Akra is that it was designed to work with the stock ECU with no added power commanders or ECU flashes (Does not void Yamaha factory warranty either, as it is an officially endorsed aftermarket accessory).

How much does that stubby little fella cost? I bet Neptune or one of the NZ exhaust builders could make a unique one for significantly less .

As long as it comes with a removable db killer you will be able to run it quiteish or rowdy.

BTW every post cat slip-on I've seen is not a marvel of exhaust tuning - they all run a perforated open core with any major difference being physical design only.

$1200 from Yami NZ, but that is for the full system and not just a slip on, so it's actually not too bad really.

I can indeed confirm that the bike runs 100% like stock with the Akra full system installed.

I have a full MIVV on my 07. Only cost about $600 from EBay.
I run it with the baffle in and it is plenty loud and rowdy enough without being too obnoxious.
Putting a full exhaust on the bike without doing any tuning won't damage the engine. The bike runs so rich at the higher rpms from stock that a new exhaust should improve the AFR.
Personally I think if you are going to spend money on this bike, its the suspension that needs it the most.

Your bike is looking good. I spy some nice bar-end mirrors, Time for some nice LED turnsignals I think - try Carpimoto.com I recently got a nice set from them for my Ducati - exchange rate is good.

I've always liked the Mivv pipes and mufflers - excellent quality units at a more reasonable price.

Can't see any signs of damage at all.
