Is it worth joining a bike club?

I ride alone most times. All my mates don't have bikes anymore they say they are too old or the Mrs. wont let me.

So, I wondered if joining a bike club might be of some value?

I dont know. I quite enjoy toodling around on my own.

Years ago, of course with my mates, it was always a mad race everywhere we went. Not into that now. I see a lot of loner bike riders out and about.

What do they do for the most part? Just ride around?

Join Ulysses North Harbour. you will be very very welcome.

We meet every first Thursday night of the month at Pupuke Golf Club for a meal and drinks and get together for dinner at Bar Africa in the middle of the month on a Wednesday night for the same.

The turnout usually numbers around the hundred mark.

And there are plenty of organised rides.

Join a club and you ride where they want not where you want. Any club is more for the social side of things.

If you are off age, Ulysses would be a good one to join. they tend to have a good time and have a variety of rides.

Just because others want to race doesn't mean you have to. Ive been on plenty of horribly run rides for both experienced and new riders. Its up to you who you join in with.

Im in a club that I enjoy riding with, all have good experience and we all know we are Rossi.

In the end its what you make it.:2thumbsup

I ride alone often, but also once a month (second Sunday mostly) with the Fat Bikers MC, mostly a relaxed bunch and rides are not a race... Often the ride home spits up and some take the long way home

This Sundays ride info, every now and then we do an overnight stay somewhere
