Hi guys,

Just got an awesome steal on a 1991 XR200, has a new clutch and starts fine most of the time, goes really awesome, the only problem i've had is that it runs a little rough when just cruising, if you are accelerating its fine but if you are just like holding the gas on at maybe about half in any gear it will splutter quite a lot. Idle seems to be fine though. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Have you pulled the carb apart and given it a damn good clean? Always a good start on a new bike you don't know the history of.

Put a new carb needle and seat in it. the symptoms you have described are correct for a worn need and seat. these wear so badly in XR200's that they sell them as a repair kit. part number 3 in the following link http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-xr200r-1991-m-canada_model6706/partslist/E__1501.html#results

Thanks for the advice!

Do you know anywhere in NZ to order from, the shipping on that website is quite expensive.

It's fucked. I'll give you $50 for it. And a couple movie tickets as you are fresh on KB.

Good deal - valid for 48 hours ;)
