I (potentially) need an O-ring for the waterpump on the VifFerraRi, and although I've ordered one it's (you guessed it) not in stock, and won't be here for a couple of weeks, due to the slow carrier pigeons between here and Japan.
However, it's just an o-ring, and the parts fiche on my PC has the dimensions, so any place that sells engineering supplies or similar should be able to provide one based on that (ring thickness, diameter, etc.)

So, where's a good place to try? The YellerPagers weren't a lot of help.

Anyone? Bueller? Or ThatOtherGuy? Mr Smith?

Try Auckland Engineering Supplies, Beaumont St, Westhaven (great place to buy stainless fasteners too 'cos they do a lot of marine stuff)

That won't help you.
It's a 2001 Honda VFR800.
The o-ring is 32.95 X 2.62, and is apparently made by Arai. (!)
Maybe that means it's made from carbon-fibre reinforced plastic, and not the usual nitrile rubber.
Wonder if it comes with a tinted visor...

lol, and it has to come from Japan, brilliant. i think kerry is on to it, try those guys

Try Saeco or Precision Bearings,both do O rings.You can also make your own,butting a length of suitable material and joining with superglue.If it's for a water pump it's a static seal so a joined Oring might be ok.I have a couple of O ring selection kits here,Imperial and metric,plus the reminants of a kit.We don't get into O rings much anymore,they are usualy supplyed with the pump or whatever.

Got the old one as a sample? Go to an engineering shop, better ones have (a) a variety of sizes or (b) can make one up from a kit, consists of variety of diameter 'O' ring material, they cut it to right length and super-glue the ends together, I've used it successfully - especially a few years ago when the 'new' unleaded was eating up 'O' rings.

The size you want should be BS-125 (British Standard).
What you have is actually an Imperial Size (quite common even in Jap vehicles).
In Auckland try Seal House, Seal Imports, or any good engineering supplier.
