He thinks I'm cool (him and only him though ;) )
I was cleaning the bike yesterday with him hanging around, and he got himself up on the seat before I'd even realised. Good on him.
And then he tried to shove my bike keys down the exhaust.. errrr, NO.

my 4yr old nephew loves motorbikes more than anything else... no matter how much his mother discourages it! haha

Hope he doesnt try it when you aint around....
Would hate for him to topple your bike.

Most kids will just look at the bike....
Just one or two will just go ahead without warning and climb on it...

I must admit, if a child (no matter what the age) climbed onto my bike, without me saying it was ok, I wouldnt be happy.
As kids have to learn to respect other people's property and learn to ask first.

Well done mate. Now just be careful the bike doesn't fall on him.

I don't think the bike knew he was even there. It didn't make a sound when he climbed on or a movement.
btw, he's my nephew - I'll leave the property training to the parents. I'm only around to corrupt him as much as I secretly can ;)

Always better to be safe than sorry, but when my wee man was 3, my mate and I had done some work on our bikes and went upstairs for a ciggy. Were sitting relaxing when I heard my bike start up. Well the wee fulla had climbed onboard, turned the key on, flicked the kill-switch and started the bloody thing.....and was giving handfulls!!! :shit: Clever little dude had seen me do it so many times and decided it was his turn. Lucky he couldnt reach the footpegs, infact he had to lay on the tank, standing on the seat.

I've only recently found out Dad used to ride when my Granny told. That came as a surprise. All I'd ever seen him on was a scooter.

That’s no problem at all. Just remove the headers and push said child down pipes until the Keys pop out! Remove blockage! Reattach headers, and your back on the road.

Master 3 is used to riding on the bike in front of me, quickly learned not to flick the kill switch while the bike is in motion but it became part of his ritual to flick it and shut down the bike after we got into the gargre.

Down in Levin a few weeks ago, at my brother's place, he finally twigged to the whole "turn the key, push the starter and give the throttle a twist" thing and started up my brother's bike while he was sitting on it (well, laying on the tank like Goblin's wee fella). The grin on his face as he was winding the throttle open was akin to what Tim "The Toolman" Taylor would have if Bickfords ever released a turboed diesel-powered belt sander.

My bro took the keys away and Master 3 made life nearly unbearable incessantly asking for them back.

Yea but matty BBB has spent many hours on my gargre.2 things i did -let him touch a power cord a couple of times and slapped him across the hand when he did-call me a bad dad if ya like but he now wont touch electical gear unless I tell him its ok.
second thing was -I started and warmed my bike up a bit--zorst was warm -but not hot enough to burn-I held his hand on the exhaust long enough for it to register --PAIN---again bad dad?--maybee--but he has a healthy respect for hot bikes

When I took the M50 for a test ride - fortunately a short one, so the pipe wasn't too hot - Master 3 ran up to the bike when I got back and touched the zorst beffore I could stop him. Damn. I thought I'd successfully drilled into him in the past "don't touch bike engines and exhausts".

As I said, short trip only so it made his hand red and caused a fair bit of pain but did no damage (he jerked his hand off pretty quick) the salesman pointed me to the staff area where I could run the wee mite's hand under the tap.

I don't think he will touch a bike exhaust again after that. I'd be surprised if Master 2 tries to touch one after having witnessed what happened to his brother.

Yeah. Hope I never get to be that old. Apparently girls become more interesting than bikes. As if!

Nah, they just become interesting in a different way (we've done this already in the "bike or sex" and "That question" threads)

The bike can be handy for scoring, too (and if the chick doesn't dig bikes, she's not worth scoring)
