Hi guys,
Just arrived 1 week ago in NZ from France, based in wellington. Already have the house and the job but... now I need THE BIKE!

I used to ride for the last 12 years, start at 16 by a 125 hyosung comet, after few years get the bike of my dreams a 2006 black Z750 kawa
Last year spent in Australia, bought a brand new 500 EFI desert storm Royal enfield. The piston head break down after 6000km... 2 month needed to fix it with the waranty... no more comments, still painfull memory...

So, looking for something with more or less 500cc, oldest, ugliest and cheaper is the best, if the engine works fine it's enought. Anyway I wanna have fun by making cafe racer, scrambler or something fancy.
If you heard about something like that, i'm your man!

Also looking to meet people to make some nice ride or empty some beers during summer.

Cheers!

Oh, and by any chance, do you know if there is any kind of association who have a community workshop or somewhere that I can fix or custom my futur baby?

Tena koi tau, get yourself a Yamaha WR 500, a KTM 380 EXC, or if you want a do-up project, a Yam IT 490.

These machines will make you...a macho man, or their bitch... hehe, eh, fella..

Old, ugly, cheap - you are obviously referring to a gen 1 KLR650. Where in Wellington are you?

(no gen 1s on trademe, but a couple of $4000 Gen IIs - is that within your budget?)

Thanks guys for the answers, I finally get a CB750 (1981), exactly the kind of bike I was looking for.
