Well - this looks interesting as well - a replacement for the old SS models?

Most likely be over-priced and underpowered. I think Ducati are a bit slow in that area of the market. It'd better be good to compete against already dominating MT09 Tracer, new VFR, GSX S1000F, and couple of middleweight BMWs.

I like it. 111hp in that body would be good. Would be a great alternative to a 600 inline 4.

Yes, been reading a bit about it and I was wondering where it would fit. Afterall the Pinigale 959 is for sports, they have monsters for lesser pace and hyper for hooliganism and a smaller multi 959 on it's way.

But very useable power and good torque figures would make it a excellent all rounder.

Price will be the decider in NZ as it has a couple fine rides with sharp pricing to compete against.

If the price is good it will sell. It out looks and has more prestige than it competition.
If its 5k more than the rest it will only move slowly.

$20,990 for the base model, same price as the Z1000SX (These come with luggage though).

Good enough you reckon?

Dunno. The Ducati OE Ohlins tend to be very track focused. That might seem exciting but they are bloody uncomfortable on our roads. This observation doesn't just apply to the Panigale, my S4R was thus afflicted and a Brit road test I read of the Ohlins equipped version made the same comment.

When I read the word Testatstretta in that article I thought it would have a dry clutch but was pleased to read it gets a wet slipper clutch.

All in all it looks to be a reasonably sensible bike.
