The quest for passenger ride complete.
Couple of weeks wait and a five and a half hour bus trip to Hastings during school holidays (bad plan). A ride into some wind and rain later. Here it is the M109R
Nine years old and in fairly good condition but most importantly cheap.
Came with loud pipe (very loud) and factory pannier kit which will save me needing the spend. Touring seats also so the wife will be happy.
Had to spend some time cleaning and ordered a new set of tyres. Tyres are not cheap but the originals are almost dead. Shop says fifteen to twenty thousand km a set which will be unusual and no chain to worry about.

First impression. Not as heavy as I was expecting and not as bad handing as expected either.
Rides nicely at almost legal speeds but not a bike to push too hard into a corner and you want to get lines sorted well prior.
Pegs scrape to let you know you it has limits and those limits are basically early.
Acceleration is fairly good for a 350kg bike and the torque seems to be everywhere.
Give it a handful from standing start and it feels like its wanting to twist itself into a circle.
Heated hand grips helped with the cold and rain on the way home.
It had a givi screen which is now removed but idd likely install it for a trip as it works ok but im not keen on the look.

Took a while to get some clean back on it.
Here it is.

Fail! The answer was always Hayabusa! I think you like corners too much to let that satisfy you.....

How does that work?
Trailer the MV to the corner, trailer the cruiser around the bend, rinse and repeat?

Nah I get it. Right tool for the job. Couple of nice hammers you have there. 12 ounce for the tricky stuff 20 ounce for the straight drive.

Its about 40mins of straights to the hills and then the corners begin.
Damned if I do or Damned if I don't.
Only way I am going to win is put the MV in a saddlebag or build a uni wheel trailer transporter. Tempting. Is it half the weight of the tow bike? Might be possible if the MV becomes the trailer. Can of worms developing.

Well, that's different. USD forks on a cruiser?

I'm sure you'll have fun.

Very similar two up reasons to why I bought the Bonnie, we call it my Bitch bike cause its for my lovely bike bitch as she jokingly refers to herself :)

Was lookin at a Triumph America and the MT but we still wanna do corners without it scraping its arse at 30deg. I also found your arse gets numb quicker if your sittin on your tail bone with your knees up so the Bonnie it was!
With a couple suspender mods its done ok even two up loaded for the cold kiwi. You gotta choose your lines and roll on before the apex cause there aint stacks of power there (well fuck all) but it gets along ok. Her indoors likes it 100% better than being perched on the back of the SV thats for sure :)
Looks like you got a great bike for the dollars hope you have some great one on one time like we do :)

In the beginning there was 2 lovers and a SP1.
Now there is 15years history and a constant voice in my head.

I think my lovely will like the back a little more and im enjoying a completely different style of ride also.
Its a lot nicer to ride in town also which is a bonus and even 4 hrs straight in the rain with headwind didn't give me any aches.
