I've just signed on with NZ Post's Youshop - it was set up specifically for sending purchases on from USA, UK, and China if the seller didn't ship internationally.

Just made the first purchase tonight, obviously it's early days but looks promising so far.

I have had good luck so far with buying stuff from directly from people in the US, and having them ship there.

I generally wouldn't bother with it in England as you will get dicked on their taxes.

I've used Shipito.com in the USA for years. Excellent service.

Used them once. No issues and reasonably quick.

I've used YouShop quite a bit, generally the shipping is a bit cheaper but mainly it's consistent. The shipping charges can vary wildly depending on which company the vendor works with. YouShop will also re-package your goods to give a better price. Some companies use standard sized boxes too big for some small items, YouShop will re-package them into smaller ones.

I've had good service from them.

I have found from the UK that they (unlike the USA) know about the rest of the world and will ship at a reasonable rate. UK company will not charge local taxes (VAT) on items sent to NZ.

Yeah, it might have just been the shops I tried to deal with that weren't set up for overseas direct shipping. If going to a UK address (as set up with Youshop) you will unfortunately have to pay the taxes.
