Been sorting through some photo's on the computer and found some of the bucket in its begining days.
No wonder froggy and the other guys laughed at me when i turned up with it at my first race! It really was a shi**y looking A100. :devil2:
Do ya think it looks a tad better now? :niceone:
Anyone else got before/after pictures of bikes transformed into bucket racers?

Haha yea, just made the seat tonight, looks like ill be sleeping on the ground if i ever go camping again though. The old seat (which neither photo shows) weighed a few k's which wasnt so good, the new one lower and lighter, hopefully an improvement. plus it comfy too!

you gotta be better than me on the racetrack. my times sucked at ruapuna, about 2:20, compared to 1:52 for the regulars

speights_bud

Yea well lets say the crappy little track i'm riding on isn't so good. More suited to motards, like watch out for the third pothole on the left before that there hairpin!. And numberboards appear to be optional.
But hey i shouldn't complain, its a start and there some decent competition there.

ok here's a Before & After picture with two intermediate stages. Bear in mind this is the same bike. . . Well Grandpa thinks so.

Nice dave, how come you put on a smaller front disc on the rs frame? Couldn't find a proper disc? Or to save on unsprung weight?

F5 Dave
5th October 2005, 09:25
Bit of both, they are infact RG50 wheels (with wider rims welded on). I have since gone to a slightly bigger disc as the std RG one was struggling, worked well sometimes, others not.

It sure looks a treat! Vast improvement, no doubt about that! hXc's has just come back from the painters-now hes just gotta keep up with you on the track!

Oh my giddy (& ringing up & complaining to the council) aunt.

Where the hell is the muffler? Lot of tracks you wouldn't get to race at.

The muffler is on the right hand side. It's painted Matt black. Why won't I get to race at a lot of tracks?

I think he does, young fella.
Dave, it has a small muffler on the end of the chamber - I don't think it is too loud, but who knows

F5 Dave
5th October 2005, 16:18
Well I know what a stinger is & for a 2 stroke it should be at least 200mm long (‘course it could be internal).

But the 'muffler' (for want of a better word, maybe just a muf... ) looks so small it just has to be loud. Maybe the neighbours won’t complain. [insert tui add].

Yea, too late, not so popular next door are we hXc? :headbang: :niceone:

Neighbours complain when MSTRS lets loose with a fart, we don't give a rats arse what the neighbours think-if they don't like it they can move to a retirement home.

F5 Dave

Sadly it only takes a complaint to close down a race track, western springs- prime example, but virtually every other track has issues, no matter how remote.

Well, at your home you can do what you like, but on a race track, it only takes one dick head to have the track closed down. Think the Kart track at Carrs Rd, in Halswell had noise problems too, and now no bucket racing out there. :crybaby:

That wasn't really because of the noise the buckets made make it was just becuase some of the residents are cunts and found the original lease conditions didn't include bikes and made the club enforce it

yungatart

The bike has to pass scrutineering before he can ride it on the track. If it needs anything done we'll get it sorted-no problems. We are not there to annoy the neighbours (we can do that at home), we are there to have fun.Have to say tho tat it is nowhere near as noisy as SB was/is.

yup , pretty much , its their track, their club , a go cart club is for the racing of go carts not buckets and if I wanted to race their we should buy carts
funny , it was ok when they needed the money

Ivan

How long ago was that, nsrpaul? Don't the council own that land? Maybe suggest you guys use the track on a weekend when the carts arent racing?

Sketchy_Racer
7th October 2005, 17:58
yea it sucks when you lose tracks cause of someone elses dickheadness, we lost our bucket track at market gardens in grenada north cause there were some 'hoons' out there racing around without permit.....congrats to the dick heads!!!

i think that if you can have some common deacentcy one a bike, you shouldnt have one.

nsrpaul
10th October 2005, 15:13
only lost it at start of this year , but they only let us back about 6 months earlier
it fully blows , cause I got heaps of guys to buy bikes( over 15 at last meet ) and now they have no where to race

Ivan
