I was wondering wither anyone has come up with a solution to (Apparently) the factory parts being unavailable without
making a longer steering head stem and using tapered roller bearings?

Dave modified if i recall correctly a std ball to suit.
Yes they are unavailable and are a size unknown to man.
edit other have modded a std ball.
The link i posted on the other thread no longer works.

Yeah they are funny bastards, i bet his brother had a bearing factory.
There seems to have been no logical reason for creating a special bearing size in the first place either.
I am trying to look for Daves post.

erm, yeah. . .I sourced some through TSS here in wgtn but didn't write down the numbers, or what supplier they came through. It was someone who knew RS parts, dunno if it was Race supplies, but Kevin(?) should know. Wasn't Whites or Darbi. Might have been eurobike, nah can't have been. Think they were similar to CBR400 maybe(don't quote me, could be C50 step through with my memory), but ohh yeah I remember; the difference was the bottom race was like 6mm thick and I got it surfaced down to 1/2 that.
Go take some measurements & go see a decent shop.
Ohh eck, think its (distributor) something like 'K2'
R2 I Think.
Or D2?
I'll be getting some soon, will post how I get on.
Ahh, R2 sounds better. OK 80% likely it was them.
The bearing was made specifically for the RS125 and they are no longer available. You will have to either modify the closest bearing set you can find or change to tapers which means a new/longer stearing stem.
I've done both the 50 & 100 now, worked fine with whatever roadbike bits but just with one race faced down (its crazy tall for some reason).
CBR900. CBR bearings have the same ID and OD but are thicker, but will pay to check as I could be wrong.

If ever there was an opening for an entrepreneur to make some here it is.

Yeah piece of piss. I might even have it written down somewhere. Aftermarket, hmm who was distributor? Either way call Andrew at TSS here in the hutt and tell him he'd got us some. He'll remember who to get them from. Might be cbr400. Give him measurements if yer keen.
I might have it written down at work.
Only diff is one of the races is like 7mm and you need to get someone to surface 4mm off, (guess) to match the original of the bottom race.
[Edit]. Oh hold on its in post above.

They prolly didn't expect you to turn their bikes into bucket racers and race them for another 30 years...

Indian may never have thought of bucket racing - but the owners manual quotes every bearing size and every plain bush is replaceable.
They PLANNED on their stuff lasting for longer than 30 years...
FWIW, it's possible to reduce bearing race height - both taper races and ball - in the lathe using a carbide tip.
They're not that hard.

Well please let us on here know if they do work Cotswold. Interestingly the old top cone out the NF4 is stamped
NTN SF05A29PX1.

Just posting for completeness and so to help others.
A working solution to what to use to replace NF4 steering head bearings (RS125 88-94) is to use one of each of 91016-KT8-005 and 91015-KT8-005 bearings from a CBR900 they will need to have 4mm removed from each of the cones any good engineering workshop can do this.
I hope this is of help to others Cheers.
