Shocking, leaping about like a " monkey on a coconut", & as Marky will pipe up & add, " no countersteering!"
Marky needs to crowd fund a trip there, so he can back himself with some big wagers to win..L.O.L...

Those little bikes (Honda XRM125s or similar) make a lot of noise but really were they going that fast? It looked like they were going maybe 70-80kph. Most of the risks were from them cutting each other off on the corners and crossing the centre.
But isn't this how everyone rides?

Sure, but is he deaf?
How can he bear that awful flatulent-blarting racket?

They are underbones much like a Honda C50 in basic layout only on steroids.
Some have very similar engines to the FXR150

The constant noise not varying much in revs noise is a result of the CVT ie like an automatic scooter. CVTs are the fastest most efficient racing gearbox, which is why they are banned in F1 and MGP.

Ah, no... the CVT is a convenience item, but is in - no way - as "efficient" for % power transmission..

'Do the math'.. spur gear trans runs 98%, & CVT don't..
F1 is now an "efficiency" formula.. ( & yet 2Ts also remain on the 'banned' list)

Stop the bitch slapping. CVTs:
1. Are less efficient transmissions
2. When well designed, can make more efficient power trains.
the right chapter of your maths textbook is that way :ar15:
Edit: forgot, Kiwibiker. As you were.

They get taken to 300cc+, watercooled, billet throttle bodies, roller cams, the list is endless.
On the dyno they sound absolutely flat but put essentially the same horsepower to the ground from any speed above a quick jog. The sound is from a GoPro camera. In real life they bark.

This article gives transmission efficiency figures, 97% for gears, 88-93% for CVT.

When you see the pushbike racers using CVT, then you'll know its arrived, transmission efficiency-wise...

The CVT advantage is being able to keep the engine at peak power, and not having the power disruption of changing gears to do so. It can be less efficient, but still put more power to the wheels on average.
Racing pedlies with a speed range of 0-50kmhr, 20-ish gears to do that, and no clutch; is a pretty dumb comparison to make.

Those scooter dudes are mental - the Austrian vid - they are riding quick, but aren't taking crazy chances around blind corners. Honestly I would never ride anywhere near as fast as either on the road. People say - riding 8/10ths etc on the road. F-that..... more like 5/10ths at most.
