These great little bikes make for fun track day rides or, as a road bike, can hold their own against much larger and newer models.
The standard two stroke RZ250R makes 35HP but, with it’s ultra light dry weight of just 139kg; it gets along very well and will reach around 170kph plus.
These have always been very popular bikes for racing and modification so there are plenty of after market parts for extra power, better handling and cosmetic upgrades.
This particular bike seems to have very low kms (we can't guarantee those miles but that's what Customs have put on the import document) and its previous owner has done quite a bit of work modifying it for lower weight, better handling and more power. It’s a good runner but we haven’t ridden it on the road as it’s not yet registered.
As you can see, it has race style expansion chambers with nice stingers. It also has a crankcase breather, NHK steering damper, after market rear hugger, Nissin master cylinder and brake calipers, steel braided brake lines and an after market upper fairing.
It has been stored for a while and will need some work cleaning up corrosion but it runs well and should be a hell of a bike when it’s finished.
If you’re looking for a fun track day racer; this would be a great option. If you want a 2 stroke road bike, you’ll need to comply it. The required documents are supplied and compliance should cost $190 incl WOF as long as the steel braided lines make the inspector happy and it’s not too noisy (we didn’t think so).
