So after having my gp100 rebuilt 2000ks ago (all bearings and piston rod etc) it has started ticking loudly grinding and no idling correct sometimes it will crunch and die other times it won't, any opinions im thinking to fix it and sell it if it cracked a piston or something or keep it if its just a bearing not really sure though what is a dereg one with a few bumps and scratches worth? etc any opinions :yawn:

Buy a no-reg good runner & put your engine in it.. or the other way round, or swap rego plates - or something..

Its not registered and don't need it too be just riding around private driveways and country backroads

And birdlings to methven is a fair hike, there's plenty of shops that would have been more capable in chch & closer.

I am in the throes of dismantling a GP100 (1988) The motor last ran about four years ago and would no doubt need to be carefully resuscitated. I have other parts available in various conditions. The frame is beyond service - full of significant structure compromising rust. Open to offers. Good.

Good evening,

I have the engine proper, wiring loom and all particulars to create a spark. In addition there is the air box, indicators, instrument cluster and a few miscellaneous bits and bobs. The oil reseviour was poked and will need to be replaced, similarly the throtle /oil cable will need also need replacing. What do you reckon?
